A worker ended up hospitalized after an explosion at an aerospace and defense plant in south Arkansas.
The explosion occurred at the Esterline Defense Technologies facility in Camden Tuesday morning.
An Esterline employee said everyone at the plant was accounted for after the explosion, and a state emergency management spokesman says the plant’s campus security reported the situation was under control.
The injured worker ended up airlifted to a hospital.
The person injured was Aaron Brownlee, according to a report from the Camden News.
The company said it is conducting an investigation into the cause of the explosion, which occurred in one of the buildings. The facility produces aerial expendable countermeasure flares.
Michelle DeGrand, senior manager of corporate communications for Esterline’s headquarters, told the Camden News that an “energetic event” occurred Tuesday and that one person was injured and transported to the hospital for injuries sustained. She added regulatory authorities were also contacted.
