A minor chemical spill at an Eastern Kanawha County, WV, manufacturing plant ended up quickly stopped Saturday.

It happened at the Chemours plant Saturday morning in Belle, WV, said Kanawha County emergency officials.

The cause of the spill is believed to be a seal in a pump that went bad, officials said.

The company said the flange leak released about four and half pounds of raw material.

Cyber Security

The leak was immediately stopped and no one suffered an injury in the incident.

Investigators checked around the area around the plant, ran testing and said the chemical remained confined to the plant area and did not make outside.
