A worker died following an industrial accident at a lumberyard in Crozet, VA, police officials said.
Floriberta Macedo-Diaz, 46, of Waynesboro, VA, died after at least one piece of lumber fell on her.
The incident occurred just before 7 a.m. July 25 at the Yancey Lumber Company, according to the Albemarle County Police Department.
An unnamed employee at the scene said at least one wooden board fell on the victim.
Police said the employee suffered a life-threatening injury at the job site and was taken to the University of Virginia Health System.
The eastbound lanes of Route 250 in front of the lumber yard were closed for a time but reopened once an ambulance left the scene.
The Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.
