A fire broke out in the dust collection system at a textile plant in Indian Land, SC, Friday.
The fire broke out before 9:30 p.m. at the Keer America building on the 9600 block of Old Bailes Road. Smoke could be seen coming from the building as a large number of firefighters worked to put the fire out.
Seven fire departments ended up called to the 250,000 square foot manufacturing plant, firefighters said.
The fire remained contained to the dust collection system, said the Lancaster County Fire Marshal.
There were no injuries in the incident and the plant will reopen after repairs, fire crews said.
Keer America is a subsidiary of The Keer Group of Hangzhou, China, which spins cotton yarn in a large facility in China that has more than 2,000 employees. The Keer Group started up in 1995. The Indian Land facility has been open since 2015.
