A California state agency is investigating an accident at a Jurupa Valley cabinet maker in which an employee ended up having three fingers amputated.
The accident occurred Aug. 3 at Hartmark Cabinet Design & Manufacturing in the Mira Loma neighborhood, according to state Department of Industrial Relations records.
No specific details of the accident were immediately available.
“Cal/OSHA opened an inspection on Aug. 10 to determine the cause of the incident and may issue citations for violations of workplace-safety regulations,” said Frank Polizzi, a spokesman for the Department of Industrial Relations.
The Department of Industrial Relations’ Division of Occupational Safety and Health, better known as Cal/OSHA, sets and enforces workplace safety standards in California.
