A pipeline that spilled over 8,000 gallons of diesel fuel on a Van Buren County, MI, farm is fully operational again.
Workers repaired and tested the pipeline and it has been working for the past week, said a spokesperson for the Wolverine Pipe Line Company.
The pipeline began leaking when a farmer accidentally struck an eight-inch Wolverine line while doing excavation work.
The incident occurred June 3 on land near County Road 380 and 62nd Street in Geneva Township.
The soil suffering from the leak is in the process of being replaced with new soil, the spokesperson said. There is no definite deadline as to when this will wrap up.
