There was a fire late Thursday morning in the machinery at the Marysville Ethanol facility in Marysville, MI, officials said.
The fire was confined to the machinery at the facility, said Marysville Fire Capt. Don Paterson.
“There are a couple of hot spots smoldering,” he said. “It’s tough to get access to it. We’re working on getting access to it.”
He said Port Huron firefighters had been on scene, and Port Huron Township firefighters are covering the Marysville station.
Tri-Hospital EMS was on stand-by at the scene, but no injuries have been reported, Paterson said.
He said the fire was contained but he expected firefighters to be at the scene for another hour and a half to two hours.
The fire was reported at 11:30 a.m.
