A worker died after he became trapped under a piece of equipment after an accident Tuesday at a Saskatoon, Canada, facility.
A worker in his 60s died after the incident Tuesday at 8:20 a.m., police said.
When they arrived, police found a man suffering from “serious injuries.” Early information indicates the man was injured after he became trapped under a piece of equipment at Basic Truck and Trailer Repair Inc. His name was not released until notification of next of kin.
A person who answered the phone at the shop said it was too early to provide comment on the accident, nor could he confirm exactly what happened saying: “I can’t confirm it, because I don’t know yet.”
The man was taken to the hospital by Medavie Health Services where he died as a result of his injuries.
Troy Davies, spokesman with Medavie, said paramedics worked to save the man’s life as soon as they arrived.
“They worked him extensively from on scene, all the way to RUH (Royal University Hospital) with life threatening injuries,” he said.
A spokeswoman with Occupational Health and Safety said officials are on scene and are reviewing the incident.
