Two workers ended up hospitalized after a HazMat incident at a Middletown, Ohio, water treatment plant.
The incident occurred at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the Middletown Water Treatment Plant.
A lime powder leak prompted Hamilton hazardous materials to respond, along with officials from Butler County EMA, said Shelby Quinlivan, spokesperson for the city of Middletown.
The lime is used in water softening and is stored in a bulk storage tank.
Quinlivan said there is no danger to the city’s water supply.
Two workers were taken to the hospital, Quinlivan said.
The workers’ conditions are unknown, but officials said they were alert and conscious when they were transported.
