Three people suffered injuries after an explosion and fire at a saltwater disposal well in Kingfisher County, Oklahoma.
The explosion occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday at a saltwater disposal well south of Oklahoma Highway 33, said Kingfisher County emergency management officials.
The wells are used to dispose of wastewater from oil and natural gas operations.
Those injured have been taken to a local hospital for treatment, but their conditions were not immediately available, officials said.
The fire at the disposal well has been extinguished and that no evacuations were necessary.
The cause of the explosion was not immediately known.
