A dust explosion in a building on the Toyota campus on San Antonio’s South Side started a fire Thursday morning, officials said.
Firefighters got the call 9:55 a.m. in a manufacturing subsidiary on the Toyota campus, said San Antonio Fire Department spokesman Joe Arrington.
Toyota has its own firefighters, who were assisted by 18 San Antonio firefighting units, including medics and a HazMat team.
No injuries were reported and the fire ended up quickly extinguished.
“Team member safety will remain our top priority while a cause is determined and the supplier evaluates a safe return to their production,” a Toyota spokesperson said in a statement.
