A fire broke out at Kobe Aluminum in Bowling Green, KY, Sunday night.

The fire broke out at 9.:40 p.m. Sunday night and the Bowling Green Fire Department sent 25 personnel and 7 firetrucks to fight the blaze. The blaze was restricted to one area of the plant.

“We did arrive to find molten aluminum and machinery on fire inside of the plant, with assistance from plant personnel we were able to control the fire,” said Assistant Fire Chief Doug Morris.

At the outset of the incident, there was a heavy fire department presence and several employees evacuated the building and were left standing outside.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is currently being investigated. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
