Fires burned out after a natural gas explosion Thursday in Longstreet, LA.

The blast and then fire started around midnight in the northern Louisiana village, near Logansport in DeSoto Parish.

Fire crews were called to Enterprise Products after reports of an explosion early Thursday at an oil and gas site in the area, said Sheriff Jayson Richardson.

The natural gas company has closed the line off in both directions, and officials let the fire burn out.

The site is about 100 yards off the road and there are no homes nearby. There were no injuries in the incident.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
