Workers were forced to evacuate the North Dakota Mill and Elevator in Grand Forks, ND, Wednesday after a report of a gas leak.

Emergency responders were at the state-owned grain-processing plant for about an hour to assess damage caused when a contractor working in the area struck a natural gas line before 1 p.m. Wednesday.

No one suffered an injury in the incident, but mill staffers evacuated the building before firefighters arrived, officials said.

The Grand Forks Fire Department determined the leak did not reach dangerous levels for the company at 1800 Mill Road or nearby businesses and residents, according to the release.
