Safety officials are investigating an industrial accident at Omni Manufacturing last month that killed a Celina, OH, man.

Jon Paul Jones, 55, died of blunt force trauma after the incident at Omni Manufacturing, officials said. He ended up rushed to St. Marys Hospital after the Jan. 24 incident where he died Feb. 12.

Jones died of blunt force trauma, but results from an autopsy conducted by the Lucas County Coroner’s office have not been released, said officials at the Allen County Coroner’s office.

Allen County officials said Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation officials are investigating the incident. An Occupational Safety and Health Administration official in Toledo said agency personnel also are investigating the incident. Agency officials said the investigation must wrap up within six months.

An Omni Manufacturing spokesperson issued condolences to the Jones family but declined further comment pending an investigation.

The company performs metal stamping, powder coating, nylon coating, screen printing, robotic welding, machine welding, spot welding, orbital riveting and tool and die manufacturing, according to the Omni Manufacturing website.
